Why We Log Sessions Instead of Selling Classes

Lena Marchetti

Why We Log Sessions

A class is a thing you attend. A reading is a thing you keep. The distinction is the whole club.

A class has a start time and a teacher at the front and a number of people who came. It is measured by attendance. When it is over, it is over, and the only record is that you were there.

A reading is different. It is yours. The temperatures you crossed, the holds you kept, the day and the degree — logged, and returned to you as a line you can read backward. Not to compete. To notice.

Recovery is not an event. It is a series of small, exact things done often, and the only way to know it is working is to keep the record. So we do not sell you a class. We give you back the reading.

Come often enough and the chart tells you something the single session never could: that you have changed, by degree.
