The sauna is not a single temperature. It is a gradient you choose your place within.
At the top bench, the air is at its hardest — 82°C and climbing when the water hits the stones. At the bottom, it can be twenty degrees cooler. Between them is the whole of the room, and most of the work.
New members sit high because they think heat is something to withstand. It is not. Heat is something to read. The seasoned ones move down a bench when the löyly turns the air to something with weight, then back up as it settles.
Learn the room and you stop enduring the sauna and start using it. The high bench for the sharp minutes. The low bench for the long ones. The door, briefly, when the reading asks for it.
There is no prize for the top bench. There is only the temperature that does what you came for.
